Black Salt is an explosive four to seven piece covers band based in Auckland, New Zealand.
Their energetic live performances, versatility and exceptional musicality has seen them perform at many successful events for a huge array of corporate clients.
The Band
Black Salt formed in 1999 to perform at a friend's birthday party, which eventuated to more gigs and functions with regular spots at the DeBretts bar, and Europa club in Central Auckland. This progressed to a long residency with the Cock and Bull bars all over the country for over 10 years and continued to perform when they came under new ownership. In early 2015, Black Salt moved to the Viaduct to become the resident weekend band at the famous/ infamous Danny Doolans Pub .Late 2019 brought a change in scenery and approach where Black Salt moved away from the regular pub gigs, and focussed more on corporate, private and wedding events where to this day - Black Salt are still in demand with a revolving list of regular loyal cliental and as preferred entertainment to certain venues i.e Kauri Bay Boomrock, Mantels and Vermosa to name a few.
Though there have been a few personnel changes over the years, today Black Salt still includes 3/4 of the original members that started the band in 1999. When required or requested, Black Salt can extend to a 7-piece band as an option to your special event and include top notch Iive, recorded or online production where we partner with our good friends at The Production Company and ShowVision.
Traveling around the motu is no issue as we are equiped to travel anywhere from our home base in Auckland to as far as Kaitaia, Hastings or Palmerston North with a travel fee attached to cover our costs (anything further will require us to fly and hire gear).

Black Salt have spent over 10 years building their song list and has an extensive repertoire of contemporary popular music ranging from 1970‘s soul, R‘n‘B and classic rock through to the modern pop and Top 40 hits of today. I just cannot overstate how awesome Black Salt is! We have been fortunate enough to have them as our entertainment on a couple of occasions for mid winter functions and there will undoubtedly be many more to come. I loved how they also dressed to our theme. They have become so popular and they’re a great bunch of guys. Their song lists are comprehensive and cater for all ages and musical tastes. The dance floor is always packed from the first song to the last and I can’t wait for the next function to get Black Salt along.
